High fashion. Couturette. The cat’s meow…. All of these describe a brand I discovered from Trieste, Italy, called It-Dogs. No one in America really knows about them yet, so you are getting an early look into a beautiful brand worth knowing. Let’s call it handmade dog fashion of the highest order, in one of the most fashion-forward countries in the world. Yet, despite the collections being gorgeous, the pieces are very wearable for day to day living. The It-Dogs Collections for Spring/Summer ’16

Showing from It-Dogs is everything from high-quality, faux leather carry bags with embellishments, tees, one of a kind harnesses, the cutest, most original collars and leashes and even a beautiful pochette, or envelope bag, for you.

There are a couple of different Spring/Summer 2016 collections:

The Amore Collection, which has bright reds, pinks and soft creams in faux leather harnesses, whimsical cotton harnesses and very chic carry bags.

The Chic Elegance is another. Think Chanel…quilted faux leathers in creams and blacks, studded with pearls, stones and rosettes, and lush fabrics and knits. Very nice and timeless!

The Lace Couture Set is charming; lace harnesses, carry bags, in soft hues of blush and grey or a pop of pink.

The Fashion Girl Set is oo la la! Think bright pink embellished lace, sweaters and tees, some with strands of pearls.

Sweetie Friends is as it sounds. Charming, sweet harnesses in soft colored prints with dancing desserts, dots with ice cream cones, florals and ginghams.

The Cute Bee is so fun. Primary colors rule this collections with bright yellows and reds, dominating. Complimenting or matching spring creatures-themed pieces, including bumble bees, snails, even cherries. So adorable! The story behind the brand…

It-Dogs began with a well-known Chihuahua in Italy. Created two years ago by designer, Greta Kobal and her husband Simone Tonitto, in an Italian city one hour from Venice, it was Greta’s chocolate Chihuahua, Coco, who inspired her. Coco was a famous doggie model there, along with Greta’s other Chi, Speedy. After studying art and fashion design, Kobal decided to pursue a creative outlet by making clothes for her babies. The reaction was more than she could’ve anticipated and It-Dogs was born, named for that something special that dogs who wear her designs possess.

Greta has a great sense of style. “Every piece, from collars to bags to sweaters to dresses is completely handmade in our Italian atelier,” Kobal explains. “This is not a factory product, but a luxury product, using the best wool and fashion fabrics, also from top Italian brands. So, the materials are very comfortable and very fashionable. Many of our products are eco-friendly and cruelty free. Even our wool comes from a cruelty-free farm.”
