Fun Ideas for Summer Dog Clothes – Part One: Tanks & Tees

Can you believe it? Seems we’ve just come out of the deep freeze, and Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner. Sophie and I are happy; we’re warm weather girls. I have visions of spaghetti-strapped maxi dresses, sleeveless blouses, colorful summer frocks, cozy linen trousers…ok, ok, that’s for me. For little Sophie, I’m thinking pastel little tanks and tees, I’m dreaming colorful, summer floral print dresses, because Sophie will never let me get her into one of those. But, that doesn’t mean your little fashionista can turn it out. I know, some of those summer days get awfully hot, and no one wants ot wear any more clothes than they have to. I think our pups can always look fresh and chic, even on those lazy days, and I have some beautiful, comfortable, affordable options for you. Roll-O-The-Dice Tank
The eye-catching tank is one that caught my eye. I love bold black and white stripes (one of my favorite Nicole Miller maxi dresses for summer has bold stripes just like this), and the pop of turquoise makes me smile. The whimsical pair of dice are just icing on the cake of this very cute piece. Made from a cotton/spandex blend, so it’s form-fitting and keeps its shape, and the dice are trimmed in gold metallic thread.

We’ll think Pucci, not Poochie, when we see this fabulous tee, and your poochie will instantly be recognized for the fashion-plate she is. Bold patterns and colors are so on trend this season, and yet there’s something vintage about this pattern, too. I love how the swirls and flowers co-exist beautifully, yet in a riotous kind of way. Made from a poly-spandex with four-way stretch, designed to fit the different shapes our dogs might have. The sparkly, silver hologram foiled dots make it all the more interesting. This tank reminds me so much of the 70’s, and with its textured fabric and cute swimming shark, I couldn’t resist. I think your little boy or girl would look very smart romping in this choice, and that the material is ventilated, stretchy and machine washable (no dryer, pls), is a bonus.

Moonlit Tee
I love this delicate, floral print and the pastel pink and lilac it comes in. I included the close up so you can see how it’s dusted with tiny crystals to give it a shimmering effect. This quality makes it a great choice for day or evening. It’s lightweight cotton stretch, for a great fit, and the sparkling flower at the neck takes things up a notch in the style department. Lovely!

Puccini Top in Green & Brown
Cue up Emma Peel from The Avengers, and bring your pup to the mod-era party wearing this fashionable little top. With its keyhole halter style and retro geometric pattern, I’m loving it! Add the band accent from the neck piece, down the back and around the waistline, and I have to say, isn’t this the coolest thing?! Lightweight, lined in light pink, silky fabric and trimmed in chocolate brown, this may just be one of the hottest pieces of the season. I’ve put my money where my mouth is and just purchased one for Sophie!
