52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge: Week 6 – Create
I love to design things for Sophie! As it turns out, other people love the designs, too, thank goodness! That’s how Couture by Sophie was born. This is a shot I took of the little girl, modeling her newest coat, The Abigail, in front of F.I.T.
This week’s 52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge is about creating. I saw this fabric when I was shopping for a client at Mood in the Garment Center, and loved it. I immediately saw it as a dog coat. But I didn’t buy it then; I took a swatch, found a matching burgundy satin lining, took a swatch of that, and the same with the faux fur collar.
The more I looked at them at home, the more I wanted to make this coat. So, back I went and bought everything. It was the first coat I made that had complete coverage of the neck and chest and the first coat where I used velcro. I used to have a thing about velcro, but have since learned better! 🙂
Hope you’ll join me and lots of others participating in the #52Snapshots challenge! It’s fun, helps hone your photography skills and you connect with some great pet bloggers. But, you don’t have to be a pet blogger to do this.
Just post your own photo, following that week’s theme on your social networks, with the hashtag #52Snapshots, so we can all connect. If you are a blogger, this is also a BlogHop, so join up below! Here’s the schedule of themes:
What do you like to create for your dog?
That is fabulous fabric! Poor Velcro… It is so great until is isn’t. Thanks for sharing your creation!
Hi Bethany! Thank you! I know what you mean about velcro. It’s a necessary evil unless you are doing custom and then, voila!, you don’t need it. And, I love doing custom. 🙂
Oh, how very cute! I wish I were so creative! Thank you for sharing, and for participating in the photo challenge every week!
Hi Chris – So so sorry for the late reply. This move out of state nearly killed us! 🙂 Thank you for the lovely compliment. it was fun to make.
I love the challenge. Have fallen behind this week as we moved the dogs down on Friday and I flew back to NYC for the day on Monday to pick up Isabel, our kitty, who I’d left with a pet sitter while we got her room set up for her (cats hate change, right?). Still unpacking boxes but starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel! Yay! LOL
