I came across this Design To Die For bag while browsing on Bloomingtails (I know, I love that name, too!). It caught my attention, because it looked so different from the others which, for me, is a check mark in the “pro” column. It’s very fresh, clean, and stylish in a chic kind of way. It’s called the “Rescue Me” bag, and is designed by Jeanne Chinn (JCLA), of Los Angeles, where a lot of great design is found. The sorry excuse for a “window-shopper” that I am, I bought it and decided to test it on Sophie. I figured it would be a great new spring bag. I love the one we have, but it’s been 4 years now, and the thing has given us all it can give, despite the numerous washings.
The “Rescue Me” bag comes in faux leather (black or pastel pink), or canvas (white, light pink or bright red). I chose the white canvas. I know white gets dirty, but I just love how it looks, and a white, canvas bag for Spring/Summer is just so right! 🙂 It’s called a “Rescue Me” bag because JCLA donates a portion of profits to rescue organizations around the U.S. Here’s a picture of our new “Rescue Me” bag.
The bag has some original design features: you can snap out the plush, leopard micro mink lining and replace it with an included lightweight cotton one, via snaps around the perimeter of the bag. This way, if you want something cooler, more breathable, you detach the mink. If you want something more cozy, warmer, you have that option, too. Both are machine washable. I thought that was smart on Jeanne’s part.
Also, the bag has the most adorable feet…that’s right, they’re dog feet! Sculpted gold dog feet! Apparently, this is the first dog bag to feature this.
The “Rescue Me” tote can carry a pet up to 16 lbs. It is meant as an all-purpose carry all, so think original gym bag, diaper bag, too! It’s shoulder straps fit nicely and have a padded section so they’re comfortable. It has a zippered pocket compartment for your phone, credit cards, poop bags…essentials, and an attached short leash to secure your dog. The canvas version does not have a top closure or side venting; that only comes in the faux leather bag. So, if you’re looking for a place you can conceal or fully contain your pup, look into the faux version. If you’re looking for a fun spring bag for your dog, I recommend this.
Sophie did great in it. She was comfortable and secure. I can’t wait for spring!
Until next time…
