Red, white and blue is never as much in fashion as at this time of year. For Independence Day, we’re celebrating our independence from England, standing on our own feet in our own country. Now, London has brought us some pretty great things – a cool accent, gorgeous fashion, the infinite entertainment of the Royals, the ultimate hat and more (including my husband).
But, for July 4th, we’re honoring that empowerment with beautiful, patriotic dog apparel/accessories, including items for moms, too, in the tri-colored palette. Here we go!
Tulle Bag or Not Tulle Bag? Yes, Please!
I fell hard for this bag from Trieste, Italy’s It-Dogs fashion house. And, because it’s so beautiful and the Italians are honoring our heritage, I had to include!
Made from straw and covered in tufted tulle, the body is sprinkled with twinkling Swarovski crystals. Completely lined in matching, red cotton with a safety leash attached, and handles or a shoulder strap option. This is the perfect summer carrier for your pup to travel in style. LOVE!

A little jewelry never hurt anyone…
Love pearls? This sweet, stylish Independence Day necklace features lots of them, and dangling daintily is an American flag charm. Lovely and great year round. Designed and made by Furry Tales of Norway.

Are they Worthy? Of course, they are!
You may have seen this collection covered recently here, and one piece, in particular is perfect for Independence Day. The striped anchor seersucker dress and matching boy shirt from The Worthy Dog is a comfy, yet crispy fresh looking outfit for your July 4th festivities. Easy on/off and throw in the machine to clean. I love them and, from the reaction to the giveaway a couple of weeks ago, you do, too! Wearable fun for all summer long.

Fashion For You!
Bergdorf Goodman’s newsletters are a go to for me to see what they’ve chosen to highlight for each season. So, when their fourth of July picks came into my Inbox, I wanted to share them with you as a springboard to some basic, key pieces that would work beautifully for the holiday and beyond.
Note the styling details, like the scallop of the Marysia two piece or the floral accents on the Anna-Karin Karlsson shades. These items are beautiful and you’ll pay for that level of craftsmanship and materials.
What I want is to take inspiration from this and bring you affordable, beautiful pieces that will shine on Independence Day and beyond.
Mixed Media Tee
Stripes, dots, prints, denim…this adorable tee has many of the season’s trends incorporated into the design. It’s made from up cycled clothing, so it’s eco friendly and look how cute it looks! Will work beautifully for your holiday backyard party or with a pair of jeans, white or blue, any day.

Geometric to the Max(i)
Despite this awful photograph, I thought this handmade, chevron print, red, white and blue maxi dress was very cute and a great choice for Fourth of July festivities. And, like my other faves, it works all summer. Primary colors are hot this year and this fits the bill! Pair with large-framed, glamorous sunglasses (think Jackie O.), a straw tote, sandals and a statement necklace and you’re done. Great for beach and apres.
Available in a wide range of sizes, from 12m infant up through 3XL women’s, and maternity.

Cap It Off with Dazzle
You know I love me a little dazzle and this baseball cap has it in spades. It’s handmade with Swarovski crystals, is adjustable and it’s a real trucker hat. When you go into Jennifer’s Etsy shop, I’m telling you now, she makes a lot of very tight-fitting, skimpy pieces on very busty women. Not my thing, personally, but I do like this hat. So, don’t blame me if you blush a bit when you buy. 🙂

Hope you’ve had fun discovering my tips. I’ve had fun finding them! Enjoy your 4th, whatever you do, and be safe.
