Petaggio is an affordable, beautifully handcrafted piece of art that captures the essence of your pet’s personality. Made from solid birch wood, it features a silhouette of a favorite pose, against a contrasting background. The brainchild of Davies Decor founder, Tom Davies, I caught up with Tom recently to find out more.
“As animal lovers, we can’t get enough of talking about the special moments we have with our pets,” Davies shared. “I wanted to give fellow pet parents an opportunity to capture those moments in a special way that was enduring and beautiful.”
And, like the stunning cat-centric products he’s already created, Tom has done it again, but for all pet parents. I love the richness of the wood he chose, and I’m a silhouette fan, too. The subtlety and mystery of a silhouette really appeals to me, it’s kind of like you share a secret with the subject.
I was surprised that a handmade piece like this was so reasonable, too. They range from $49 – $59.00.
What I also love is how easy this is to do. I lose patience with a long process of any kind (maybe it’s the New Yorker in me? :-)). This is a simple 3-step drop-down menu all on one page on the site. Here’s all you have to do:
- choose between two sizes – a 4″ high or a 6″ high Petaggio
- choose between two finishes – a darker stain or a lighter stain
- choose whether you want the silhouette of your pet to be darker or lighter than the background
And, that’s it! Just upload the picture you want to use, and you’re done!
It can be featured on a wall or stand up on a desk or table, and comes with a stand and the hanging hardware.
Because the turnaround is so quick (about a day from when Tom receives your picture), there is still time for this perfect gift for Father’s Day!
