It might seem like the trend that keeps on giving, as pastels have taken us through last spring and this fall/winter. But, we love it so much, we can’t let it go, and it’s one of spring 2014’s trends, too. I don’t mind. Pastel fashion for dogs works! There aren’t many who can’t rock a pale shade. Pastels this season aren’t about being so airy you float away; in fact, they’re a great contrast to more powerful designs. I’ve searched my favorite places and some new ones to find interesting, fun, spring pieces of the pastel variety. I hope you like!

Frills & Skulls Wrappini
An original and handmade “wrappini,” which is more like a light doggy coat, I found this great piece on Etsy in a new doggy shop I discovered called MyDazzlingDoggies. It features an outer layer of cotton flowers and skulls in shades of pink, white and black, and a cute little pink collar with ribbon appliqué. The coat is trimmed in black and white gingham ruffle, adding flirty femininity to the skull motif. For a little sparkle, designer Jodi Levin has added two sequined skulls on the back. The piece is lined in a pink fleece and has velcro closures at the neck and chest. Machine washable; lay flat to dry. It’s just adorable and different from what you will see around. I love it!

Windy Ways Couture Corduroy Harness Vest
This tailored yet feminine handmade harness vest is a bit flirty, yet substantial. It is all in the details here, and designer Tiny Paws Couture has gone out of its way to add interesting features that catch the eye and give the overall feeling of a special piece. Made from pastel blue corduroy, the bodice is lined in a pink satin and trimmed in baby pink lace. The button closures are embroidered with floral buttonholes. The peplum has small embroidery accents, a lace trim, and a fluffy soft tulle underskirt to add interest when the dog walks. The vest is lightweight, so great for spring. A harness ring is available upon request. Velcro closures. I would hand wash this item and lay flat to dry.
