One of Europe’s Biggest Designer Dog Fashion Brands is Now Here: Meet Hunter
Do you like classic, clean lines, important-looking embellishments, top quality materials and timeless style? Now, for the first time, one of Europe’s leading designer dog fashion brands has landed on our shores and where did they choose to open? Right here in Fort Lauderdale! But, you don’t have to live here to shop their beautiful style. Fashion lovers, read on!
The Hunter brand is impressive. A family-owned business for over 30 years, Hunter has come to stand for quality and innovation. You can see and feel how luxurious the products are, but they have also made a point of being affordable. So, when I discovered this beautiful store in my neighborhood, I was very excited.
I learned that a pet brand called Just Your Friend was the exclusive distributor of Hunter in Florida. I got to know the principals of Just Your Friend and met the woman whose father started Hunter in Germany. They are all committed to making the most beautiful, highest quality products possible.
And, there’s something for many different tastes. I bought these gorgeous chocolate brown faux leather collars with white trim for my girls (see above). They have a row of very sparkly Swarovski Crystal Elements, of course!
I love their beds, which range from a luxe royal style called the Ricarda (complete with gold thread embroidery-below), to the very sporty, waterproof Grimstad in four eye-popping colors (above).
Harnesses for big dogs? Hunter makes a really beautiful one, regal, almost. It’s called the Ranger Professional and comes in a striking navy, silvery grey, classic black and a fun orange.
The fashionable travel bags for dogs or cats are awesome! The two styles I loved most are both structured to maintain their shape and they fold into a narrow, easily stored item. Called the Luxus and the Comfort, they both exude modern chic. And, with a cozy cushion and plenty of ventilation, it’s a safe, comfortable ride for your baby. Perfect for apartment dwellers who don’t want to sacrifice roomy comfort and style. The Luxus comes in black, chocolate brown, champagne gold and a black & white animal print.
I’ve added these Hunter pieces to the Bark & Swagger Boutique to introduce you to this great brand. There’s lots more and I’ll be bringing in new pieces for Spring. For high quality, clean, classic styling and an affordable price for luxury, this is a wonderful brand to know.
Discover. Hunter.
I just ran across this site out of shear desperation. Need help with a dog and all shelters and rescues are ill prepared to handle these situations. A dog came into my yard, put him in a fence so that he would not get hit by car, is extremely skidish and refuses to allow a leash put on him. Have canvassed neighborhoods, visited and called vets for info, am presently running lost and found ad in newspaper. If the county animal shelter is involved they will put him down as he is skidish. A family nearby with fenced yard would love to have him but we cannot get anyone to help catch and transport him from one yard to another. Beautiful dog and smart. I cannot keep him as we have one. Know this website is not for this type of situation, however, any suggestions???? I cannot see this beautiful animal put down.
Hi Yvonne – you have a great heart. Is he food motivated? Did you try bringing pieces of real boiled chicken or a real burger, something that might be irresistable to him? This takes some time. Whatever happened to him; he doesn’t trust. This is how the rescuers do it and it can take days but doesn’t have to. Take a leash that is looped to form a collar with you each time. Take delicious food. Coax with soft talking, holding out your hand with the food. Don’t approach too quickly. If he does come over to sniff you, just let him. All movements slow. Keep doing this until he lets you slip the loop over his neck, again, slowly, talking softly to him all the time. You need to gain enough trust with him to allow him to take that leap of faith. Thrilled to hear a family you know wants him. They must have a very secure yard where he can not get out. And, with skittish dogs, everything takes time to, again, build that trust, so lots of treats, soft talk, hands that communicate love. It’s a patience, time and lots of love game but the results are so rewarding for both the dog and the person. We have a dog like this, who spent 7 years of his life in a puppy mill and in a little over a year, has made amazing strides. Please don’t lose hope. It will work. Good luck and I wish you would tell me what happens; how it goes, Yvonne.
