52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge: Week 7 – LOVE
We’ve all been immersed in love this past week. Valentine’s Day is upon us and hearts and flowers are everywhere. But, I’m a fashion geek. So, for this week’s 52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge’s Love theme, I’m choosing the winning ensemble at this year’s New York Pet Fashion Show, the largest event of its kind probably in the world. I am crazy in LOVE with this ensemble!!
The creator of these outfits, who walked away with the Designer of the Year title, is a favorite of mine: Rebecca Bissi of Chien Coature. Rebecca is a true artist, who painstakingly approaches each design with incredible precision. She does a lot of work with crystals and is, in fact, an approved official vendor of Swarovski, not surprising because she uses so many of them!
For this entry, worn by her clients Gena and Jake Oddo and their beautiful snow Pomeranian, Sophia, it took 1000 plexiglass mirrors, 4000 argentium connector rings and 8000 crystals!
She went through the mill, so to speak, for this labor of love, including drilling into her finger while putting connector holes in the mirrors. If that wasn’t enough, she was asked to create a second outfit for both her and Sophia, for them to walk in the newly created Designer Couture Retro Show at the event. That colorful, mod floral design is on Rebecca and Sophia below, as they walked the runway.
I’m so so happy for Rebecca winning this prestigious honor. She really deserves it. She is one very talented lady!
Hope you’ll join me and lots of others participating in the #52Snapshots challenge! It’s fun, helps hone your photography skills and you connect with some great pet bloggers. But, you don’t have to be a pet blogger to do this.
Just post your own photo, following that week’s theme on your social networks, with the hashtag #52Snapshots, so we can all connect. If you are a blogger, this is also a BlogHop, so join up below! Here’s the schedule of themes:
What does love look like for you?
I LOVE Rebecca’s designs, especially the white pants with the crystals. Amazing!
I know! It took her weeks to do these pieces. She’s so talented!
Wow that is impressive. I’ve never heard of this competition but for the winner it surely was a labor of love.
It’s more fun and an opportunity to improve our photography skills! 🙂 And, to connect with other bloggers and people who love animals.
And yes, the designers who compete in the New York Pet Fashion Show work so so hard. It’s definitely a labor of love for them. The winner, Rebecca Bissi, is a true artist!
Sophia is a beautiful dog without the bling.
Hi Cathy! Yes, she is. She actually likes getting dressed up; some of them do. I think she looks beautiful both ways and I know her doggy mom and dad are crazy about her.
