52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge: Week 39 – Shadow
I have to come clean. I didn’t take this picture. Oh, right! You’d know that. 🙂 I’ve chosen this picture for 52 Snapshots of Life, week 39, because the theme is Shadow and it gives me the opportunity to tell you about this cool thing I found. Me and the adorable Tinkerbelle the Dog (@tinkerbellethedog on Instagram), a bona fide model for Ralph Lauren, Coach and soon, for Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, met at the Fabreze Petiquette event in NYC on Friday. Here, we decided to make funny faces, simultaneously. What do you think?
We’re also shrouded in Shadow. The lighting at this event wasn’t the greatest. But I found this fantastic, new tool that had arrived when I got back to Florida, and we can use it to make problems like this, a non-issue. I have nothing to do with this brand; I just think it’s a great idea and it works. Truth be told, I read about it in a Kim Kardashian story; she insists people take pics of her with her own iphone because she uses this product and it insures a well lit, flattering shot each time. It’s called Lumee (www.lumeecase.com), and its an iphone or Android case that comes with a border of lights around it, kind of like those old school make up mirrors. Remember them? But, this is high tech. One button turns them on and, voila, you’ve got your own instant photo studio. Well, maybe not studio, but lots of light! I’ve taken two pictures of Jasper on the fly to demonstrate – one without Lumee, and one with.
Big difference, right? If any of you decide to check this out, let me know what you think. Sometimes, shadow is really nice in a photo. Sometimes, it’s not.
Pet blogging friend and colleague, Christina Berry of The Lazy Pitbull, created this fun challenge. You don’t have to be a blogger to participate. Just snap or choose a pic you’ve taken that matches that week’s theme and post it on your social networks, with the hashtag #52Snapshots, so we can all follow along! For pet bloggers, this is a BlogHop, so hop on!
That does make a huge photo difference. We hate using the phone for photos except when we have no choice. May have to download this and give it a try for those situations.
I bought this great camera that I sometimes use but not enough, really. It’s heavy to trek around with it, so I do rely on my iphone for a lot, especially for Instagram.
