Broadway Barks 16th Annual Adoption Event is Here!

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters at Broadway Barks for pet adoption on Bark and Swagger

Some of the biggest starts on Broadway are coming out this Saturday to bring attention to the importance of adopting and supporting local shelters. For 16 years, Broadway Barks, the annual event Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters founded, has drawn caring New Yorkers to its massive one day dog and cat adoption drive. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Broadway Barks will take place on Saturday, July 12 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). From 3:00 – 6:30pm, hundreds of the city’s shelter animals will be available for adoption. If you’re in the New York City area, this is something you don’t want to miss.

From 5:00 – 6:30, the stars will come out to present adoptable pets from shelters around the city. From Hedwig and the Angry Inch Tony Award-winner Lena Hall to Mathilda star, Paige Brady; from Zach Braff in Bullets Over Broadway to Bebe Neuwirth in Blue Bloods, a who’s who will be there showing their love for pets.

Bark and Swagger will be there, too, getting interesting tidbits from the stars on their pets for you, so stay tuned.
