The Velvet Dog Collar: Perfect for Holiday

The velvet dog collar is very fashionable right now. Here are some beauties and where to buy. Albie in the navy and Ani in the violet.

There’s almost nothing as lush as a rich velvet, and this season, velvet ruled the runways. From boots to chokers to, yes, the velvet dog collar, we are loving this trend! It’s warm, yet austere in its royal richness, and it’s cruelty-free, too. Embellish with some Austrian or Czech crystals and you’ve got a conversation piece.

One of my faves is the Evans velvet collar. I love their diverse color palette and the various crystal designs; they use the finest – Austrian crystals, known for their dazzle. And, while the velvet looks plush, it’s very durable. If they can withstand my pack, they have to be tough. I discovered them at SuperZoo and they were kind enough to send us some samples to try. Our pack looks gorgeous, don’t you think?

The collars come in wider or narrower, curved or straight-edged, with varying rows of crystals or clusters. I chose a vibrant, curved turquoise with 5 rows of crystals for our handsome prince, Jasper. His black and silver fur was the perfect backdrop to make the collar pop.

Sophie wore a straight, white, faux leather collar with three rows of crystals (she always has to be different…you know the type, right?). But, I do love the pale look on Soph. When the light hits these Austrian crystals, they dazzle against her fawn and white hair.

Ani rocked a rich, violet velvet with clusters of crystals. The violet looked stunning against her cream fur.

And, Albie looked extremely aristocratic in his navy blue, crystal clustered beauty.
