Have You Joined the 52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge Yet?

I’ve missed the boat! The 52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge boat, that is. The past two weeks have gotten away from me. I’ve been hard at work with something exciting! I’m about to launch not only a completely redesigned Bark & Swagger site, but it will contain a selective, curated boutique! Now, I can offer my followers the ability to purchase the great things I find and love! Sorry I’ve been away!

Framed!

Catching up here with two week’s worth of themes – Framed and Animal. For Framed, I chose a shot I took on a walk recently. We came across this large, framed mirror on the side of the road and I thought it would make for a cute prop of Sophie admiring herself. For Instagram, I captioned it, “When bae is coming down the street and you want to check your hair.” Sophie had no idea what was up, but I think she found the reflection of everything around her kinda cool.

Animal…grrrr…

For Animal, I chose two pics I took recently at the wonderful shelter I volunteer at called Abandoned Pet Rescue. They are South Florida’s Never Kill shelter. I didn’t know there was a difference between No Kill and Never Kill, but APR, as they’re called, will keep animals not adopted forever, until they cross the Rainbow Bridge. They are the little shelter that could, operating on a shoestring budget, all volunteers, yet they love and care for these animals so beautifully. When I walk through the large dog area, even though they are in pitifully small spaces, they look happy and healthy. They get lots of walks from wonderful staff and volunteers and are showered with love. Not as good as having a loving forever home, but the next best thing.

These two Chihuahua babies are father and daughter animals, and I’ve fallen madly in love with them. They’re names are Mai Tai and Mimosa (not loving those names), and they were rescued from a horrible breeder/hoarding situation. They’d never been walked, never felt grass under their paws. I was the very lucky one to give them their first walk. After the daddy sat like a statue in the grass for about 10 minutes, he got up, walked a few steps, then hopped, then ran around with such sheer joy and abandon, it brought tears to my eyes. If I wasn’t nervous about my terrier terror, Jasper, hurting them, I would’ve adopted them myself.

If you know of anyone who might want these two friendly, loving, sweet and now full of life honeys, please let me know. You can be anywhere, not just in South Florida.

Pet blogging friend and colleague, Christina Berry of The Lazy Pitbull, created this fun challenge. You don’t have to be a blogger to participate. Just snap or choose a pic you’ve taken that matches that week’s theme and post it on your social networks, with the hashtag #52Snapshots, so we can all follow along! For pet bloggers, this is a BlogHop, so hop on!
